This privacy policy describes how Andrew Lee Ventures, LLC ("iExporter", "we", "us", or "our") handles your information when you use the iExporter macOS application, our website at iexporterapp.com, and any related services (collectively, the "Services"). We believe in being direct and transparent about privacy, so we've kept this policy straightforward.

The Short Version

iExporter is a local-only application. Your messages never leave your Mac. We do not collect, transmit, store, or have access to your iMessage conversations, contacts, attachments, or any content you export. The app runs entirely on your device with no server component, no cloud syncing, and no data collection.

Information We Collect

Information You Directly Provide Us

We collect personal information only when you voluntarily provide it to us. This may include:

Support Communications. If you contact us with a question, bug report, or feedback at Andrew@AndrewLee.Ventures, we collect whatever information you include in your message, such as your name, email address, and the content of your correspondence. We use this information solely to respond to your inquiry and improve our Services.

Purchase Information. If you purchase iExporter through our website or a third-party platform (such as the Mac App Store), we may receive basic transaction information such as your name, email address, and purchase confirmation. Payment processing is handled entirely by the third-party platform; we do not directly collect or store credit card numbers or financial account information.

Information We Do NOT Collect

To be clear about what iExporter does not do:

No Message Data. We do not collect, read, transmit, or store any of your iMessage conversations, text messages, attachments, photos, videos, or any content from your Messages database.

No Contact Information. We do not access, collect, or transmit your contacts, phone numbers, email addresses, or address book data.

No Usage Telemetry. iExporter does not phone home. The application does not send usage statistics, feature analytics, session data, or behavioral tracking information to our servers or any third party.

No Device Fingerprinting. We do not collect hardware identifiers, MAC addresses, IMEI numbers, serial numbers, or other unique device identifiers through the application.

No Cookies in the App. The iExporter application does not use cookies, web beacons, or tracking pixels. Our website at iexporterapp.com may use standard cookies for basic website functionality, as described below.

Information Collected Through Our Website

When you visit iexporterapp.com, we may automatically collect limited information through standard web technologies:

Log Data. Our web hosting provider may collect standard server log information, including your IP address, browser type and version, pages viewed, referring URL, and access timestamps. This data is used solely for website security, performance monitoring, and basic traffic analysis.

Cookies. Our website may use essential cookies to enable basic website functionality. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking cookies on iexporterapp.com.

How We Use Information

We use the limited information we collect to:

How Your Data Stays on Your Device

iExporter's core functionality operates entirely within the macOS environment on your computer. Here is how the data flow works:

Reading. iExporter reads the iMessage database located at ~/Library/Messages/chat.db using macOS Full Disk Access permission that you explicitly grant through System Settings. This read operation is local — no network requests are made.

Processing. Message parsing, text extraction, formatting, and conversion happen in-memory on your device. No intermediate data is transmitted externally.

Exporting. Exported files (plain text, CSV, HTML, ZIP archives) are written to a location on your Mac that you choose through the standard macOS save dialog. These files remain on your device unless you choose to move, copy, or share them.

No Server Component. iExporter does not connect to any server to perform its core functions. There is no cloud backend, no API, and no remote processing.

Data Retention

Application Data. Because iExporter does not collect or transmit your data, there is nothing for us to retain. Your messages and exported files exist only on your device.

Support Communications. If you contact us for support, we retain your correspondence for as long as necessary to resolve your inquiry and for a reasonable period thereafter for record-keeping purposes.

Purchase Records. We retain basic purchase transaction records as required for accounting, tax, and legal compliance purposes.

Account Deletion. iExporter does not require an account. If you have contacted us and wish to have your correspondence deleted, email us at Andrew@AndrewLee.Ventures and we will delete your information, except as required by law.

Third-Party Links and Services

Our website or application may contain links to third-party websites, services, or resources. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party website or service you visit.

iExporter interacts with the macOS Messages database maintained by Apple Inc. Your use of iMessage and the Messages app is governed by Apple's privacy policy and terms of service. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Apple Inc.

Children's Privacy

iExporter is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 18, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.

International Users

iExporter is developed and maintained in the United States. If you access our website or contact us from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using our Services, you consent to the transfer and processing of your information in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.
